Weekly Bulletin #2 - Monday March 31, 2025
Last week, product training covered the privacy function and BetterConnect series as it relates to our electronic products, some product updates, and some Marketing updates.
Product Training
- The Privacy function is designed to allow access to individuals with user codes and service codes.
- In our electronic series products, the privacy function makes it so when the deadbolt is extended, the keypad is disabled.
- When looking at our electronic series, the -900 lets you know that it's the privacy function.
- This means that the 2900, 4900, and 5900 series are all the Privacy function.
- BetterConnect is our residential function that is designed to be used primarily in homes and apartments.
- BetterConnect locks are designed to leave the lock in a temporary passage mode when the deadbolt is retracted.
- Retracting the deadbolt puts the lock into temporary passage mode for 10 minutes, after which it automatically locks; extending the deadbolt automatically cancels the temporary passage mode.
General Product Updates
- AegisSecure (7000 Series) products will now have an integrated reader that is small enough to fit inside the door.
- This new reader eliminated the need for an external junction box, and uses the same technology as the locks themselves, so everything is easier to install and will function seamlessly.
- The AegisSecure series is the only electronic series of locks with the functionality to fit multiple markets that is also ANSI / BHMA Grade 1 certified.
Literature and Cut Sheet Updates
We are still working on the collateral pieces mentioned in last week's bulletin (listed below), with some final drafts on the horizon.
- Product posters and counter mats for distributors
- A new Indicator Suites catalog, and updated Product Showcase catalog
- A new healthcare focused tri-fold brochure
